Study Support for all Students Affected by COVID-19

There is no doubt that the spread of Covid-19 has greatly impacted the lives of all students.

The “State of Emergency Declaration” was lifted in most parts of Japan including Ishikawa in mid-May and as a result, face-to-face classes (in limited form) resumed at Hokuriku University from the 3rd of June. Online classes will continue to resume until the end of June in tandem with face-to-face classes.

The highest priority has been placed on ensuring the safety of students and faculty while also ensuring students are able to receive all available educational opportunities under the circumstances. As a result, classes were shifted to online form from the 22nd of April. After carrying out a survey of all students, the online classes were highly evaluated. However, we also did receive feedback from students about the network environment and lack of proper technology in order to access the online classes. As a result, the university had decided to subsidize a portion of the costs and will pay a flat fee of 30,000 yen per student to all students (excluding students who are on leave absence).

Also as a result of Covid-19, we can understand that many families have been put under pressure and as another supportive measure by the university, we have extended the payment deadline of the tuition fees as outlined below.

The deadline for payment of tuition fees for first semester has been extended from the 3oth April to the 30th of June.

The deadline for payment of tuition fees for second semester has been extended from the 31st October to the 31st of December.
