Global Programme

Each year during the summer holidays between August and September, we offer short cultural programs for all students regardless of faculty or major, where students spend anywhere from one-week to three weeks visiting our overseas partner universities. Students learn and experience the local culture as well as seeing the sights allowing them to broaden their horizons. All programs are subsidized by the university allowing students to experience life overseas at an extremely reasonable cost.

Kyungnam University (Masan, Korea)
3-week program where roughly 90 students join the Global Hamna program attending from all around the world. Korean language classes, traditional music, Tae-kwon-do, and culinary classes are also offered. A field trip to Seoul is also included in the itinerary.

Cambodia Internship Program (Siem Reap, Cambodia)
Students from the School of Future Learning spend a week at a primary school providing Japanese and English language education to the local children. The second week is spent with the JMAS (Japan Mine Action Service) group learning about the efforts of a Japanese NPO educating the local people on mine clearing and other humanitarian activities.

Chienkuo Technology University (Changhua, Taiwan)
10-day program visiting various historical and cultural sights within Taiwan all the way from the north to the south of the island.

Tri-University Pharmaceutical Sciences Joint Study Program(Seoul, Korea)
This program having started in 2005 brings together Pharmaceutical Science major students from Hokuriku University (Japan), Shenyang Pharmaceutical University (China) and Kyung Hee University (Korea) each year for an intensive program carried out over two-weeks. This year saw 30 students gather at Kyung Hee University to learn about the current state of medicine and pharmacy in Korea and the various challenges currently faced by pharmacists, scientists and researchers in Korea. Students were treated to a wide variety of talks and lectures by numerous professors at Kyung Hee University as well as visiting a major company involved with drug development.
