Kanazawa Urban Structure Award

Kanazawa Urban Structure Award

The 41st Kanazawa Urban Structure Award presentation ceremony was held at the Kanazawa City Hall on the 19th of February, 2019. The purpose of the award is to highlight modern structures which are in harmony of the Kanazawa landscape as well as to rouse the local people’s interest in the architecture which this city has to offer. There were 77 recommendations this year and awards were given to 11 recipients. The Shoun Kinen Lecture Hall (Hokuriku University) was one of the buildings amongst the 11 awarded. The design of the hall is based on the pine needle, which is also featured in the university badge. The hall was completed in March of 2016 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the founding of Hokuriku University.
